Renewable industries senior executive Heinz Felder joins Njord Carbon as CTO

Heinz Felder has joined Njord Carbon as its new Chief Technology Officer. Njord Carbon, a joint initiative between Verdane and Södra, is currently developing and commercialising high-quality large-scale permanent carbon removal projects (BECCS).

On 1st of February 2024, Heinz Felder formally joined Njord Carbon AB as the new CTO. With his background as Senior Vice President at Stora Enso, leading its BECCS developments, he brings critical competence in Nordic forestry and technology as well as proven leadership.

“I am very happy to welcome Heinz onboard as our first CTO, as he has all the relevant experience that we could have hoped for in such a role. He will be involved in all relevant parts of our business including setting up the technical solutions along the value chain as well as working directly with CDR customers,” commented Jon Andre Løkke, CEO of Njord Carbon AB.

Njord Carbon is currently signing up global front runners as carbon removal credit customers (CDRs). Njord Carbon paves the way to build a value chain that collectively will permanently remove massive amounts of CO2 soon, and at an affordable price point.

Heinz Felder, CTO at Njord Carbon AB, commented: “I’m thrilled to join Njord Carbon. I love to work with new business and technology development in the bio-industries, and, yes, contribute a bit to making our planet a greener and better place.”

Erik Osmundsen, Partner at Verdane, commented: “We are excited to see Njord Carbon’s progress over the past year. This shows it has an important role to play in the nascent but emerging Nordic BECCS industry, and we look forward to continue supporting the growing team at Njord Carbon.”
