Chipcon was a fabless provider of microelectronics in a large international market, sold to Texas Instruments in 2005. Verdane supported the company's rapid growth from 2003 to 2006, positioning it to capitalise on the upcoming ZigBee standard by helping acquire Future 8 Wireless in San Diego. Our team led the transaction phase, in which the company was acquired by Texas Instruments in a strategic acquisition valuing Chipcon at $200 million.
“Verdane Capital was Chipcon’s most active external owner. The co-operation among the founders, the board, the administration and Verdane Capital Advisors functioned very well throughout. Verdane Capital Advisors’ contributions were key to the success of the process that led up to the sale of the company to Texas Instruments.”
- Geir Førre, former CEO Chipcon
