Hiring: Impact Manager (UK/GER/FI/NO/DK)

About the role and Verdane:
Are you interested in working with impact and sustainability at the leading growth equity investor in Northwestern Europe? Verdane is now looking for an Impact Manager to join its in-house team of operational experts (Verdane Elevate). This is a unique opportunity to join a leading European investor and combine your strategic thinking with sustainability/impact.

Verdane is an investor partnering with ambitious European tech-enabled and sustainable businesses to reach their next stage of international growth. Our goal is to be the preferred growth partner to tech-enabled and sustainable businesses in Northern Europe. We are a quickly growing company, with 100+ employees across 6 offices. Verdane is a flat organisation offering a high degree of autonomy, and is characterised by a strong culture with four key values:

  • We dare to be different
  • We love what we do
  • We get things done
  • We respect people and the planet

What you would be doing:
This is a new role and we will develop and form it together, however a few areas we expect you to work with include:

  • Further develop Verdane’s sustainability due diligence methodology and impact scorecard (a key part of Verdane’s recently announced 300 M€ impact fund, Idun)
  • Assessing sustainability opportunities, risks and impact as part of deal teams during due diligence on potential new investments
  • Collaborating with portfolio companies to develop and implement sustainability strategies

Who you are:
As a person, you collaborate well in a down-to-earth and value-based culture that is committed to creating long-lasting relationships. You have a can-do attitude, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to take a step back to see the big picture and what it means.

To be successful in this role we would see that you have

  • 3-6 years’ experience working with strategic projects and/or investments, ideally in a sustainability context
  • Experience can come from a wide variety of companies, from banking, investments or consultancies to scale-ups or industrial leaders, however operational experience is preferred
  • Experience working hands-on with sustainability (social and/or environmental) in a commercial/strategic context (e.g. business model/product development, due diligence, or similar)
  • A degree in business/economics/engineering or other relevant academic backgrounds
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken required, a Nordic language or German is an advantage
  • The role location is flexible and can be located in Helsinki, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, or Oslo

Verdane is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working environment and we are actively looking for qualified candidates irrespective of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability, or age.
