Hiring: Group Accountant (NOR/SWE)

Position: Group Accountant, full-time

Based out of Oslo or Stockholm

Verdane is expanding and is now looking for an ambitious Group Accountant to join its in-house finance team for a role is based in Oslo or Stockholm. The Group Accountant will work closely with the rest of the Finance team spread across Verdane’s offices in Northern Europe and will be an integral part in creating a best-in-class finance organisation as the firm expands internationally.

We are looking for someone that is naturally analytical and pragmatic, with an eye for details and who is a consummate professional. As group accountant at Verdane you will be responsible for accounting A-Z, financial reporting for different entities (operative and non-operative) within the Verdane group, and providing support to internal and external customers. Responsibilities will also include implementing and maintaining routines/processes and making sure we have the best systems in place. You will be part of a high-performing team at Verdane, giving yourself the chance to excel based on teamwork, your expertise, knowledge, capacity, and motivation. Verdane is a growth company, and you will be able to shape your own role, playing an active part in future-proofing the organisation.

We believe you have

  • A track record of academic excellence. Ideally a degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
  • 3-6 years of experience in Accounting roles
  • Cross-border experience and an in-depth understanding of VAT & Tax, proportional deduction and reverse charge
  • Experience from:
  • Daily accounting, invoicing and payments
  • Developing internal processes and systems
  • Supporting management in monthly and annual budget processes, reporting and forecasting
  • Annual reporting, including financial statements
  • Administrative tasks relating to employees including salary, vacation, and travel expenses
  • Solid project management and team skills, with a hands-on and can-do mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to successfully drive projects involving various internal groups and multiple levels of management
  • Fluency in a Scandinavian language and English, both written and spoken

Nice to have

  • An international outlook and experience working across markets and offices
  • Experience from finance or investment companies
