COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Verdane, the Northern European specialist growth investor, has welcomed Nils Bouchet as Investment Director to its now three-strong Danish investment team. Bouchet, who joins Verdane from a position as Associate Director at the investment banking division of Nordea, will focus on sourcing investments and supporting the growth of Verdane’s digital consumer and software holdings.
”Denmark has produced some of the most exciting growth stories in our part of Northern Europe, and Danish software companies stick out from the crowd when it comes to finding innovative solutions based on user-centric approaches to problems. However, they tend to face similar growth challenges to other companies internationally – like balancing the use of capital with hiring the right talent at the right time, whilst retaining company culture. And that is where bringing in a specialist growth investor with a local understanding can really make a difference. I’m very excited to join a team known for being the Nordic’s most active financial investor in software growth companies, and that also owns one of the biggest digital consumer company portfolios in Northern Europe,” says Nils Bouchet, Investment Director at Verdane.
To date, Verdane has made 12 investments on the Danish market. Past and present investments include maritime technology provider Danelec Marine, wind turbine component solutions providers PolyTech, JupiterBach and JSB, software businesses Scanmarket and Octoshape, and online white goods retailer Whiteaway.
”We are very pleased to welcome Nils to the team. His extensive networks in the Danish software and e-commerce sectors, M&A expertise and solid history of building strong relationships of trust will contribute to the continued growth of Verdane’s operations in Denmark as we deploy capital from our DKK 2.1 billion Edda fund and our DKK 4.3 billion Verdane Capital X fund,” says Martin Welna, Investment Principal at Verdane.
