- Verdane, the European specialist growth investor, has announced the appointment of new Partner Morten Weicher, a veteran of the software investment industry.
- Morten Weicher will be based in Verdaneโs Copenhagen office and will support the firm in its investments in the structural themes of digitalisation and decarbonisation.ย
The appointment of Morten Weicher as Partner will help Verdane to maintain its position as a leading international software investor, building on its track record of more than 155 software investments since 2003.
Morten joins Verdane as a Partner based in its Copenhagen office after working in the finance and energy industries for more than 19 years. Morten helped create private equity firm GRO Capital from its beginning in 2014 after a previous career at รrsted and Goldman Sachs. Morten has a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Copenhagen.
Morten will work out of Verdaneโs Copenhagen office. This was established in 2017 and has nine professionals working with a current portfolio of 11 ambitious companies that help digitalise and decarbonise the economy.
Verdane has invested in 17 businesses in Denmark since 2003 including Jupiter Bach, NORNORM, Onomondo, and Polytech. Realisations in Denmark include Octoshape to Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) in 2015 and Scanmarket to Unit4 in 2022. Verdaneโs portfolio in Denmark has created more than 1,500 jobs during the fundsโ ownership and successful exits have created strong returns for Verdane fund investors.
