Phase 1
HR Interview
The HR interview will focus on your background, previous experiences, and personal motivation. We will explore your academic and professional journey, key achievements, and the skills and qualities you have developed along the way. In addition, we will discuss your motivation for pursuing a career in private equity and your interest in Verdane specifically, including your understanding of our strategy, culture, and values.
Intelligence Test
The conversation will be competency-based and interactive, with an emphasis on understanding your drive, long-term ambitions, and overall fit with the team.
Phase 2
Technical Interview
The technical interview will focus on core fundamentals in accounting, valuation, and basic private equity concepts. The discussion will be interactive and will emphasise your understanding and reasoning rather than detailed memorisation.
Commercial Case Interview
You will be presented with a short company case covering the business model, market and competitive landscape, as well as selected historical and forecast financial information. Based on this, you will be asked to assess whether the opportunity represents an attractive investment. The case will be run in an interactive, consulting-style format. You will have 30 minutes of individual preparation time prior to the discussion, and no materials are required in advance.
Phase 3
Final Interview Principal or Director
The final interview will focus on your overall fit with Verdane, including your strategic thinking and our culture. You can expect a high-level discussion on your past experiences, and how you approach complex business challenges. This stage is also an opportunity to explore your long-term ambitions and how you would contribute to Verdane’s continued success.
Path to a full-time role
Most internships do not lead directly to full-time roles. That said, exceptional performers with relevant experience may be considered for an Analyst position.
Criteria for an Analyst offer
Analyst hires start with a dedicated Thematic mentor and a clear growth plan. Typical time-to-promotion to Associate is approximately 2 years.
“Verdane has been an extraordinary place to grow, both as a person and as a leader. I joined as an intern in 2016 and have spent close to ten years building my career here. Along the way, I have had the privilege of learning from some of the most ambitious and inspiring people in the private equity industry. “
“If you are considering applying for an internship, I can genuinely say that you will be fully integrated in the team, working on real projects and getting a true glimpse of what the world of private equity looks like.”

Principal, Verdane
