Verdane strengthens operational capabilities with range of promotions and new joiners

Verdane, the European specialist growth equity investor, has announced the promotion of Christopher Parmo to Partner, and several new hires across its investment, administrative, and Verdane Elevate teams. These developments follow a period of high investment and exit activity for Verdane since the start of 2022 and the launch of Verdane Idun I, one of Europe’s largest growth impact funds,  at EUR 300 million in 2021.

Christopher Parmo joined Verdane as Chief Operating Officer in 2018 and has responsibility for the firm’s organisation and operations. During Christopher’s tenure, the firm has grown considerably to over 100 employees. He has been responsible for the continued build-out of Verdane Elevate, the firm’s in-house team of operational experts. The Elevate team has had six new employees join its ranks recently to support the firm’s portfolio companies on operational matters such as data management, sustainability, market research, product development and commercial excellence, taking the Elevate team’s total to over 30 professionals.

A computer scientist by background, Christopher has extensive experience in a range of senior executive roles at several private equity-backed companies in the technology and consulting industries, including Visma, Software Innovation, Linas Markasse and Deloitte. He also co-founded successful online grocer Godtlevert.

Christopher previously worked at companies backed by institutional investors such as HG, KKR, Cinven, Borea, Herkules, Acton and Creandum. This experience has served to inspire Verdane as the firm has sought to develop a strong value proposition, with a portfolio of companies with access to deep functional expertise ‘on tap’, to ecosystem mobilisation, and to relevant benchmarking data.

In addition to the promotion of Christopher Parmo, Verdane has made a number of internal promotions since the start of 2022. The following three Directors have been promoted to Principal: Max Carlsen, Karin Kans and Reed Snyder.

The team developments reflect Verdane’s continued growth ambition, and will further strengthen the firm’s position as the preferred partner to ambitious tech-enabled and sustainable growth businesses.

Bjarne Kveim Lie, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Verdane commented: “Christopher has been vital in ensuring that Verdane’s growth is controlled. His passion for leveraging technology and data to optimise operations has significantly improved our performance as an organisation along several dimensions, and his focus on people development has greatly benefitted our ability to develop internal talent. He has also successfully executed on his mandate to build out Verdane Elevate, and we are now able to both underwrite and to help our companies grow better than ever before as a result. I am delighted to welcome him to the Verdane Partner group, and look forward to our continued close co-operation.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate my fantastic colleagues who have recently been promoted, and to welcome our new colleagues to Verdane.”
