Verdane sell Swedish price comparison website Compricer.se to Schibste together with founder Jakob Tolleryd and other private investors

Stockholm — Verdane Capital VII K/S (Verdane VII), founder Jakob Tolleryd and some other private investors have sold portfolio company Compricer AB (Compricer) in a transaction with Schibsted Media Group. During Verdane VII’s holding period of just over two years, the company has doubled revenues and increased profitability five times.

”A core competency of Verdane Capital Advisors is to identify ways to improve efficiency and profitability in IT and e-commerce holdings. When Verdane VII acquired Compricer, the company was in a healthy position, yet several areas were identified for improved performance. We are pleased with Verdane VII’s contributions during the short holding period, helping to launch the product Private Loans to the platform, improve the sales process, and align the ownership agenda. We think that the acquisition by a strong media group is a strategic fit for the company,” says Henrik Aspén, Partner at Verdane Capital Advisors.

During Verdane VII’s two year period as a shareholder in the company, Compricer doubled revenues, increased profitability five-fold, and expanded its offering of product comparison services.

Compricer will be joining Schibsted Tillväxtmedier and Schibsted’s network of Swedish online sites, which includes the online newspaper Aftonbladet.se and the online classifieds site Blocket.se. The increased traffic this network can provide to Compricer should further enhance its market position and revenues.

“With Schibsted’s strength in online & offline media, Compricer will be able to reach more consumers and help them make good decisions in their personal finances. It will strengthen Compricer’s position as the leading comparison service for financial services in the Nordics,” says Jakob Tolleryd, Founder & CEO of Compricer.
