Verdane IX invests in three German companies

Nordic investor Verdane Capital is moving swiftly into the German tech market with their latest fund, Verdane Capital IX (Verdane IX).  With over EUR 320m  in committed capital, Verdane IX is looking to expand its investments in a maturing German market with rising potential.

โ€žWe see a major opportunity in Germany to employ our expertise and experience gained over many years of working in the Nordic ecosystem,โ€œ said Henrik Aspรฉn, Partner at Verdane Capital Advisors. As one of the leading growth capital players in the Nordics, Verdane Capital is focusing on established German tech companies with rapid growth trajectories.

โ€žWe see a lot of similarities between the Nordics and Germany. We have a proven track-record of adding value to the companies in Verdane funds,โ€œ said Mr. Aspรฉn.  Having accompanied over 300 companies along their growth journey, the team at Verdane Capital Advisors is excited about the opportunities in Germany and in bringing its insights and experience from the technologically savvy Nordic economies to fast-growing companies further south.

โ€œThereโ€™s a natural connection with Germany. Itโ€™s economy is digitising at an amazing pace and we believe companies here can profit from our expertise,โ€œ said Mr. Aspรฉn.

Verdane IX invests over EUR 30m in Searchmetrics, Smava and Hornetsecurity

Verdane IX is already active in the German market, having recently invested in Searchmetrics, one of Germanyโ€™s leading search engine optimization platforms, Smava, the leading marketplace lender in Germany and Hornetsecurity, a provider of cloud security solutions. The fund acquired shares in these companies mainly from funds, managed by German venture capital investor Neuhaus Partners.

โ€žWe are proud to have contributed to the success of these companies and we are convinced that Verdane Capital Advisors will be a valuable partner for them going forward.โ€ said Matthias Grychta, Managing Partner at Neuhaus Partners.

โ€žVerdane brings a wealth of experience and sector expertise, we are very happy to have them on board for this phase of our growth story.โ€ added Volker Smid, CEO at Searchmetrics.

Verdane IX is looking for more maturing companies that it can put on a global trajectory. โ€žWeโ€™ve helped companies in a broad range of sectors, from e-commerce and software to energy and industrial technology. What they all have in common is that they are technology-based and fast growing. Most operate in niche markets but have global relevance and potential scale,โ€œ said Mr. Aspรฉn.

Verdane Capital IX is ready to invest anywhere from EUR 5m to EUR 30m in companies that fit their strategy.
