Verdane is growing, and we are looking to recruit a Sustainability Manager with an entrepreneurial mind-set and a strong drive, who has a passion for building successful sustainable businesses. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience from making sustainability a growth enabler in small organisations.

As a person, you collaborate well in a down-to-earth and value-based culture that is committed to creating long-lasting relationships. You have a can-do attitude, good project management skills and an ability to communicate a vision and create buy-in.

We have helped ambitious tech-enabled businesses reach the next stage of international growth since 2003. Our goal is to be the preferred growth partner to tech-enabled businesses in Northern Europe, and we have more than 60 employees based out of the Nordics, Germany and the UK. We represent a diverse set of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, and a large part of our organisation are former entrepreneurs and operators. We look for fast-growing businesses that operate in SDG-aligned markets across digital consumer, energy & resource efficiency, and software.



  • Instrumental in setting the strategic agenda and goals for Verdane within sustainable growth
  • Conduct due diligence from a sustainability angle, working as part of the deal team
  • Lead sustainability-related growth initiatives across our portfolio of more than 50 tech-enabled businesses
  • Contribute to building top of class frameworks and benchmarks for sustainability initiatives
  • Help track KPIs and reporting back to portfolio companies and other stakeholders


Professional Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working with the implementation of a sustainability mandate
  • Project management in an operational, investment or consulting role
  • Experience from transactions, including due diligence, is an advantage
  • 8-10 years’ experience
  • A degree in business/engineering, preferably with a minor in sustainability, social enterprise or similar
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken required, a Nordic language or German is an advantage

You have a genuine interest in moving Verdane and the investment industry in a sustainable direction. You are used to working with people across organisations and backgrounds, and are great at communicating a vision and building buy-in. You are an entrepreneurial spirit and a doer who doesn’t wait for the opportunity to find you. You are structured and able to decompose a problem through out-of-the-box thinking.
