With over 20 years of know-how and experience, Danelec Marine develops technologies to optimise the safety, cost and performance of marine operations. Headquartered in Birkerรธd, outside of Copenhagen, Denmark, the company is a leading manufacturer of Voyage Data Recorders (VDR, the equivalent of โblack boxesโ used in airplanes) and ship-2-shore data solutions, with products installed on more than 6,000 vessels worldwide. Through strategic partnerships with Inmarsat and 3rd party analytics companies, Danelecโs leading IoT solutions enable automatic data collection, transfer, storage, extraction and analysis of ship-2-shore data.
Through its SaaS technology platform, Danelec Marine supports the shipping industryโs commitment to reducing CO2 emissions by providing accurate, regular and reliable data from, for example, sensors fitted in the exhaust system or in the engine room to measure fuel consumption. Based on this information, engineers on board the vessels and in control centers on land, can operate the vessel in the most fuel-efficient way, which reduces the amount of carbon dioxide and other harmful substances such as NOx and SOx.
Halldor Rongve, CEO at KYMA, said: โFor over 50 years, KYMA has pioneered marine performance monitoring solutions. Today, we expand on that proud heritage by joining Danelec Marine. In the face of changing regulations and ever-increasing demands for operational efficiency, we look forward to working together with Danelecโs world-class team to provide the on board and cloud data solutions needed for smart shipping and performing mandatory emissions reporting digitally.โ
